Tracking Your Article Submissions a Way to Maximize Your Traffic Part II

In our first installment we looked at the process of writing, your article and getting it publish in one or more of the thousands of article directories. So, is that the objective of your mission as a niche article author, or are there other things that you can do to advance your results from your niche article writing?

Now that you have successfully submitted your article to the various article directories how will you know which directories are sending your website visitors? After all you are in this to help your website traffic and usually your sales, of your product or service or your ad revenue. You are going to want to make sure you spend your time wisely and that you are concentrating on the directories that are sending your site the most traffic per article.

Are you wasting your time submitting to hundreds of different article directories, when in actuality only a handful of article directories are actually accounting for the vast majority of the results? You need the ability to track the results of each and every article submission that you make. In order to find out the answer to this question you will need to track your results from every article submission you make.

Knowing which articles and which directories are producing the results is critical information you just cannot be without. You will want to know things such as website hits, referring URLs and the keyword ranking information is vitally useful statistics to know. On top of this you will also want to know your number of pages indexed in the major search engines and how many back links each article has achieved.

These statistics are available but you will either have to spend a substantial amount of time, resources or make an investment into Search Engine SEO software or some of the many tracking programs that will check for keywords or keyword phrases and go out and quarry the search engines for you.

If you are planning to do a lot of article marketing and submitting multiple times a week, this later way may be desirable to you. You should be able to find a program you like for around $50 to a few hundred dollars depending on what you want to do with it. So to start if you only have a handful of articles a simple search with your article title in "quotation marks" may just do the job. You will also want to check your server stats log to get a lot of the raw numbers and sources of traffic and where it’s coming from.

With the value of time being a precious commodity these days, most of us have very little of it to spend carrying out mundane traffic analysis. The investment above in software is money well spent rather then spending countless hours digging through search results for these answers. We would probably be better off spending that time on something wiser like producing more articles. You want to make sure your spending enough time so you know what’s working but not so much your not getting new articles produced.

It is only through proper tracking that you will gain the needed information to know what works and what is just an outright waste of your time. With proper tracking you can help propel your website through the search engine SERPs and drive even more traffic to your website or business opportunity.

If you have not before now started tracking your article submission results, then it is about time you started. Blindly submitting one article after another with the hope that you get the best results just does not quite hold water these days. Article marketing needs to be as scientific as possible the beauty of numbers is they do not lie and you will gain a very quick appreciation for what they can tell you about your article writing campaigns.
